ISS over Millmount

A bit of time & effort went into taking this shot. It's all about the right equipment & planning. A quick check on http://heavens-above.com & a reminder by Denis Vaughan aka @inshin and remembering to bring my camera gear to our 1st camera club meeting back after the summer break. Then it was a quick check to see if the skies were clear & off I went to get the best position. The iphone compass was a great help as I could set up the camera knowing exactly where the ISS would appear. So I got a few stares as I stood there across from Millmount [Cup & Saucer] at 10:25 at night with a camera on a tripod, waiting for a space station to pass by. Thankfully, everything worked out well & I got this 105 second exposure. A lot of tidying up was needed in Lightroom as there was a lot of light pollution around there. Still nice & happy with the result.

This one was taken in the Gravity Bar after a photowalk arranged by Simply Zesty. You can see my friend Tommie 'Eyeblinks' Lehane enjoying my free pint of Guinness as I was driving home afterwards & couldn't drink it.

I've been bowled over by the response to this shot I took on the way home from a Simply Zesty photowalk last weekend on the streets of Dublin city. I put the shot up on pix.ie & within 24 hours, I'd over 1,100 views of the image. This was mainly due to the image being retweeted like mad on twitter. Big thanks to @curlydena who started the ball rolling.
Really glad I stopped the car as the light was just beautiful as I passed the stadium.

Here's a HDR shot of the sun setting behind the sunflower field in Co. Meath, taken at a recent mini photowalk of a few of us from the Drogheda Photographic Club.
We ended up meteor watching later that night.

Here's a long exposure shot taken while out meteor watching the other night. Pity those beautiful meteors disappear so quickly as they don't register on an exposure of up to one minute or more.

Sunflowers, in Ireland?

Went for a look at Ireland's 1st field of sunflowers last night. What a beautiful sight.
We even got interviewed for RTE 1 radio. Looking forward to seeing a few more shots from this field after I do a bit of HDR processing to them.
