Comet C2013US10 Catalina

Comet C2013US10 Catalina

A big thanks to Deirdre Kelleghan [@skysketcher on twitter] for giving me the heads up on this comet appearing in the night sky at the moment.

You can currently see the comet with decent binoculars close to the left of first star in the handle of the plough / big dipper / Great Bear / Ursa Major [Alkaid].

This is a three minute exposure, full image [no crop] with 400mm on a Canon 60Da with a crop factor of 1.6 giving it a total length of 640mm. Other details are ISO 3200 & F10. Darkened sky & noise reduction in Lightroom.

Image was taken at roughly 23:00 on 15th January 2016.

Camera: Canon EOS 60D (Canon)
