Comet Lovejoy at full moon 3rd January 2015

Another image of Comet Lovejoy C/2014 Q2, taken at the weekend.

It was such a pity that there was a full moon on Saturday as the light from the moon really spoiled the night sky. Typical as the Quadrantid meteor shower was at it's peak later that night.

The technical stuff: This is a full image taken with my Canon 60Da with 2x converter & 70-200 f2.8 lens.

It's a 10 second exposure at the widest possible aperture f5.6 at 400mm & ISO 1250.

I darkened the darks, sharpened & removed grain in Lightroom. The camera was positioned on a Skywatcher star adventurer tracking mount.

Camera: Canon EOS 60D (Canon)
Camera Lens:
Focal Length: 400 mm
Exposure: 10 sec
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO: 1250
