This weekend has been such an experience. The Drogheda Photowalk [#DPW13] was held on Saturday to coincide with the 20th Drogheda Samba festival. Many photographers joined together to walk the streets of Drogheda & to capture the spirit of the samba festival. I started taking photos at 12 noon & finished up more than 12 hours later after the performances in Clarke's bar. The music takes you along on a wave that you don't want to get off. As I heard a friend say, "When did you ever dance in the middle of West Street in the middle of the day, sober?"
The photo above was a giant octopus dancing in front of St Peter's church. This was part of the show by "Samba Resille", a group of magical people from Toulous, France who came to join in the party for the weekend.
