On Sunday 27th November, I had the privilege of photographing an amazing event. I was asked to come along to the recording of the 1st ever Christmas single organised completely through the social medium of twitter. Many of you will already know that I can be on twitter every now & again [ok then, a lot]. I was asked by my friends David Ferrie & Emily Gallagher if I'd like to come along to help document the day's recording. Let's be honest, they didn't ask me because of my singing abilities. David put me in contact with two of organisers of the event [ @carnsoreboxer & @brendadrumm] & before you knew it, I was registering myself at the lobby of the Westin hotel, with camera bag over my shoulder.
That day was one of the best days photographing I've ever experienced. The whole room was on a wave of what I can only explain as love. There were many times when I had a lump in my throat & had to hold back the tears on a few occasions. Many photos were taken on the day & most of those taking part in the day got their portrait taken. These shots can be seen on the pix.ie twitterxmassingle group page.
Congratulations to everyone involved & fingers crossed the single will make it to number 1 in Ireland. All proceeds in the sale of the single will go to the neo-natal unit of Holles Street Maternity hospital. Please do download the single when it is released, as i can guarantee you that it'll make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.
